Singer and actress Jennifer Holliday first started her career on Broadway in musicals and later became a successful recording artist.
Her rendition of the hit song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" was a huge success that peaked at No.1 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart and No.22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
She is best remembered for her portrayal of Effie White in the original Dreamgirls musical, a role Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for in the 2006 film adaptation.
